10 Best Clubs in Bali for a Relaxing Day (The Quiet Ones)

Bali is loud. It is beautiful and green and smells like incense, but it is also loud. You have scooters buzzing past your knees. You have people trying to sell you sarongs on the sidewalk. Sometimes you just need to stop moving.

Most people hear “beach club” and think of a party. They picture loud bass and crowded pools. That is fun for a Friday night. But what about a Tuesday morning? What about when you just want to read a paperback and drink a cold coconut?

I have spent a lot of time in Bali looking for quiet spots. I wanted places where I could actually hear the ocean. This is my list of the ten best clubs for a lazy day. No fist pumping required.

1. La Brisa (Canggu)

This place looks like a dream of a shipwreck. It sits right on Echo Beach. The whole thing is built from old wood that looks like it came from fishing boats. It feels lived in. It feels cozy.

You walk in and see fishing nets and shells. It is not shiny or plastic. It feels like a treehouse for adults. The best part is the seating. They have these little nooks upstairs. You can hide away there for hours.

The food is really good too. They focus on seafood. It tastes fresh. The pool is nice but it can get busy in the middle of the day. Go early. Grab a beanbag facing the sea. Watch the surfers crash into the waves. It is better than TV.

The music is usually slow. It fits the mood perfectly. You can fall asleep here and no one will look at you weird. That is a win in my book.

2. Sundays Beach Club (Uluwatu)

Uluwatu is different from the rest of Bali. The cliffs are high and the water is actually blue. In Canggu the water is grey. Here it looks like a postcard.

You have to take a lift down the cliff to get to Sundays. It is a fun ride. You see the whole ocean open up in front of you. Once you hit the sand it feels private. The sand is white and clean.

They give you snorkeling gear for free. You can take out a kayak too. But honestly I just sit in the shallow water. The waves break far out so it is safe to swim.

Stay until the sun goes down. They set up bonfires on the beach. They give you marshmallows to roast. It sounds cheesy but it is actually really nice. Sitting by a fire with the sound of the ocean is hard to beat.

3. Mano Beach House (Seminyak)

Seminyak is usually crazy busy. Traffic is bad. But Mano is a little hiding spot. It is right on Petitenget Beach but it feels separate.

It is small. Most clubs are huge. This one feels like a friend’s backyard. A friend with a lot of money and good taste. The decor is dark stone and wood. It is very soothing on the eyes.

They don’t charge you to get in. You just have to buy food or drinks. The breakfast is great. I go there at 9 AM sometimes. It is empty and quiet. You can get a daybed right by the pool.

The staff are super friendly. They don’t push you to order more. They let you chill. It is a rare thing in this area.

4. Jungle Fish (Ubud)

Okay so this one has no beach. It is in Ubud. It is in the middle of the forest. But it counts.

It hangs off the side of a river valley. You look out and all you see is green. Trees and vines everywhere. It is cooler here than down at the coast. The air feels fresher.

The pool is huge. It sits right on the edge. You can hear the river rushing down below. It is white noise that makes you want to nap.

Bring a book. This is the best place to read. There is no sand to get in your pages. Just order a lime juice and relax. It feels like a secret escape.

5. Karma Beach (Uluwatu)

This is another one at the bottom of a cliff. You can take a hill tram down. Or you can walk the stairs if you want a workout. I take the tram.

Karma feels fancy. It feels expensive. But in a nice way. The bamboo structure is beautiful. The beds are soft.

The water here is amazing. It is a lagoon. The reef stops the big waves. You can float around for hours. The fish swim right up to you.

The pizza is famous here. They make it in a wood oven. Eating pizza on the beach is a top tier life moment. It is not cheap but it is worth it for a treat.

6. The Lawn (Canggu)

The name tells you everything. It is a patch of grass by the beach. It sits in the middle of Canggu but it feels open.

There are umbrellas everywhere. You sit on picnic mats or low tables. It feels very social. Like a park day. But with waiters bringing you cocktails.

The pool is right on the edge. You can watch the sunset from the water. It gets orange and pink and purple.

Sometimes they have bands playing. But usually it is just chill tunes. It is a good spot to go with a group. You can spread out. It feels easy.

7. Mari Beach Club (Batu Belig)

This place is new. It is huge but it does not feel crowded. The building is made of bamboo. It is shaped like a mountain. It looks really cool.

The pool is the best part. It is not just a square. It winds through the club like a river. You can wade through it. You can find a corner away from the bar.

It feels very Balinese. They use local materials. It feels grounded. The food is spicy and good.

It sits between Seminyak and Canggu. So it is easy to get to. But it feels miles away from the noise.

8. Sundara (Jimbaran)

If you want to feel rich go here. It is part of the Four Seasons resort. Everything is perfect.

The pool is super long. It goes on forever. You can actually swim laps if you want. I usually just hang on the edge.

The staff are amazing. They bring you cold water and towels. They clean your sunglasses. I am not joking. They really do that.

Jimbaran is famous for seafood BBQ. Sundara does a fancy version. It is delicious. It is quiet and grown up. No one is shouting. It is pure peace.

9. Roosterfish (Pandawa)

This one is down south. The drive there is nice. The roads are wide.

Roosterfish is big. It has a massive lawn. You never feel squashed. There is plenty of space to run around. Or just lie down.

They have a swim up bar. You can get a big bucket of beers. It is good value.

The ocean here is pretty. The sand is soft. It is a good spot if you have kids or a big group. Everyone has space to breathe. It feels very open and airy.

10. Potato Head (Seminyak)

Wait. I know what you are thinking. Potato Head is a party place. And it is. At sunset.

But go in the morning. Go at 10 AM. It is empty. It is silent.

The building is art. It is made of thousands of old shutters. It is colorful and strange. I love looking at it.

They care about the planet too. They recycle everything. They try to make zero waste. It is cool to see.

Sit by the infinity pool. Look at the ocean. Enjoy the quiet before the crowds come. It is my favorite secret hack.

So there you go. Ten spots to do absolutely nothing.

Bali moves fast. It is easy to get tired. Don’t feel bad about taking a day off. Find a daybed. Order a drink. Watch the clouds move. That is the real holiday.

Just remember to wear sunscreen. The sun here is no joke. Have fun doing nothing.
